MORENet CSIRT addresses computer security incidents in the context of the academic and scientific community benefiting from MoRENet services, incidents where the source or target of the attacks is MoRENet or its constituents.
A security incident is any confirmed or suspected adverse event related to the security of systems or computer networks that results in a negative impact on an institution if it is not handled correctly.
MORENet CSIRT classifies security incidents into two categories: internal incidents and external incidents. The external ones are those originated outside the networks of the member institutions or the MoRENet network infrastructure and the internal ones originated in the internal network of the member institutions or in the MoRENet network infrastructure.
